The workshop took place at the Vanuatu Christian Council (VCC) Conference Room in Port Vila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event brought together 25 selected participants from community-based organizations (CBOs), grassroots associations, and aspiring civil society leaders to explore pathways toward building stronger, more independent, and sustainable organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop was structured around three key sessions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Review of Organizational Capacity<\/strong><br>Participants assessed their internal governance, leadership structures, and day-to-day operations to identify strengths and areas needing improvement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Challenges and Pathways to Autonomy<\/strong><br>Discussions focused on real-world challenges CBOs face\u2014including limited funding, unclear roles, and external dependency\u2014and explored practical steps to increase autonomy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Partnerships and Long-Term Sustainability<\/strong><br>The final session emphasized the value of forming meaningful partnerships while maintaining an organization\u2019s mission, identity, and community ownership.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The participation of ToakLink\u2019s committee member highlights the association\u2019s ongoing commitment to community empowerment, transparent governance, and sustainable growth.
